2-way ECO-i Multi
Based on original technology, Sanyo is proud to offer this energy-saving concept.

As a sensitive issue, the discharge of CO2, which is one of the causes of global warming, is reduced to a minimum; at the same time, operating costs are decreased.
The use of a power-saving design for the structure of fans, fan motors, compressors and heat exchangers resulted in a COP value which is top class in the industry.

1 Inverter compressor

Large-capacity inverter compressors in the max. 10 horsepower class have been newly developed. The performance range of an inverter compressor has been expanded and the partial-load capacity has been improved.

2 Constant-speed compressor

A constant-speed, large-capacity scroll compressor has been newly developed. A configuration with two compressors has been realized for up to the 16 horsepower class, and for the 20 horsepower class a configuration with three compressors can be utilized.

3 Accumulator

The accumulator capacity has been increased to maintain compressor reliability because of the increased refrigerant quantity, which required an extended max. piping length. Furthermore, the refrigerant pressure loss was reduced, which contributes to an improved operating efficiency.

4 Fan guard

The fan wire guard has been newly designed. This results in a reduced air resistance and ventilation noise.

5 High-performance fan with a new shape

The newly designed fans now have a diameter of 700 mm. The rotation efficiency has been increased and the sometimes decreased air flow volume at the time of high external static pressure has been corrected.

6 Heat exchanger copper tubes, heat exchanger fins

The fin size has been increased and wave-shaped slits have been added. By increasing the efficiency of each fin, the interval between fins could be increased to realize reduced air flow resistance and suppression of frost formation.

7 Sub-cooling circuit

Large-capacity double piping is used, and top-class tubes with high heat transfer efficiency are used on the inside.

8 Oil separator

Due to adoption of centrifugal separation type, the oil separation efficiency is improved, and coolant pressure loss is reduced.

The numbers indicate the average COP for heating and cooling.

Newly redesigned Fan

Due to review of Fan and bell-month shapes, the stress to fan at the fast wind speed area is dispersed. It is realized to save the electric consumption of the motor due to this.

The turbulent flow (blue part) can be suppressed and the noise can be reduced. Even though the high speed circulation is utilized, the noise level is at same level as usual.

2 types and 3 patterns of Silent mode

3dB or 5dB can be reduced by setting. And it can be decided the priority which is noise level or capacity performance or moderation control. External input signal is also available.

Extended operating range

Heating operation range:
The heating operation range has been extended from -20°C to -25°C by use of a compressor with a high-pressure vessel.

Cooling operation range: -10°C DB to -43°C DB

Power suppression control for energy saving (Demand control)*1

ECOi series have a built-in demand control which uses the inverter characteristics. With this control, the power consumption can be set in three steps,*2 and operation at optimum performance is performed according to the setting and the power consumption. This control is useful to reduce the annual power consumption and to save electricity fees while maintaining comfort.

*1 "Para I/O unit for outdoor unit (ACC-XSP4U1GB) is required to input the signal.
*2 Setting is possible as 0% or in the range from 40 to 100% (in steps of 5%). At the time of shipping, setting has been done to the three steps of 0%, 70% and 100%.

The total operation time of the compressors is monitored by a microcomputer, so that there is no unbalance for the operation times of all compressors in the same refrigerant system, and compressors with a shorter operation time are operated with preference.

High external static pressure

Special setting at site allows all models to provide up to 80Pa due to newly designed Fan, Fan motor and Casing.

The flexible design comes with a air discharge duct to avoid a reduction in performance due to shortcut of air circulation. The new feature allows the outdoor unit to be installed inside verandas on every floor of the building.
